Xinyi Liuhe Quan in Malmoe summer 2009
Varje morgon under veckan började vi med antingen Xinyi Liuhe Quan eller Baguazhang. Xinyi är ett anrikt system från Henanprovinsen vilket karakteriseras av 10 djur och sex harmonier. Taktiken i Xinyi är att täcka upp hela sin kropp samtidigt som man störtar rakt in i motståndaren. Systemet är uppbyggt kring många små korta attackformer, vilket sedan kan kombineras i det oändliga.
Master Gao Tieniao började med detta system när han var 18 år. Han har nu tränat detta system dagligen i 45 år. Här i Sverige har vi tränat det i 5 år. Det är en stor glädje för oss att vi har de två bästa utövarna i världen här på regelbunden basis varje år.

SAO PAULO, Brazil – Helio Gracie, one of the main creators of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that gained worldwide popularity, has died. He was 95. Gracie died Thursday morning and was buried in the afternoon near his home in the mountain resort town of Petropolis near Rio de Janeiro, according to a short statement posted on the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy Web site. The Agencia Estado news service said he died of pneumonia. Gracie introduced a series of adaptations to traditional Japanese Jiu-Jitsu that emphasized leverage and position as a way to compensate for size differences among opponents. More than 40 sons and grandsons of Gracie and his brother Carlos helped popularize the mixed martial art around the world. One of Gracie’s sons, Rorion, was a founder of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, a hugely popular martial-arts combat sport in the United States, where it is seen as a more exciting alternative to boxing and wrestling. Gracie is survived by his wife and nine children.

Kuntao is a Hokkien term referring to martial arts practiced by the Chinese community of Southeast Asia. The word kuntao means way of the fist similar to Chuan Fa, or Fist Technique. Translating Kuntao as ‘Way of the Fist’ is too literal, it really means ‘fighting art’ or ‘martial art’.Purely Chinese kuntao styles exist in China, and Taiwan, but kuntao styles have been spread for centuries by merchants and other travelling Chinese people.
Forms of kuntao are practiced in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Borneo and the Philippines as well as in some other countries. Some kuntao styles were not changed but many were. This happened because the styles had to be adapted to a new environment, fighting in different terrain, fighting local styles, defending or fighting with local weapons.
Kuntao is a relatively little known art in Sweden. Considered by practitioners to be a form of Wushu it is often called Chinese Boxing or Kung Fu by its practitioners.

Wuji means emptiness. Channa means meditation. Wuji is a concept that comes both from the taoism and the buddhism. The importance here is to empty your thoughts. Chan is the Chinese origin of the Japanese word Zen. In kung fu, you emphasizes the value of being in balance. If you are not in balance, you are not whole.
When one mentions kung fu everybody know that it is about training. You practicing your body in different martial-art techniques over and over again until it is a natural part of you.
For a kung fu practitioners it is also importent to train the mind over and over again so that it is also a natural part of himself. Only by exercising both mind and body you can be in balance.
You practicing martial arts for your body.
You practicing meditation for your mind.
Qigong combines the two.
So that the mind is with the body,
and that the body is in the mind.

This is a fantastic creation. So wonderfull. Thank you Finland and Nokia for this. For many decades Bruce Lee have inspired people all over the world to start train martial art and still does. Bruce Lee learned the Nunchakus from another legend, Daniel Inosanto.

Master Qian Zhaohong at a busstop in Malmoe
This autumn 2008 will be an exciting kung fu semester. There will be more training sessions than ever during the week. It will also be arranged more kung fu events than ever. Qian Zhaohong will, as usual come for a whole week in October. It will be introduction of Weng Chun for the first time in Sweden in november. In Malmö Wing Tsun School, the semester starts 7 september. At 18.00, we will keep a show and an introduction of all the kung fu styles we teach in. This is at the moment: Wing Tsun / Wing Chun, Tai Chi Chuan, Xinyi Liuhe Quan, Yin Fu Baguazhang and Wujie Qigong. Everybody are welcome!

Tai Chi Chuan at the Rörssjöpak, Malmoe
Among all the many hundreds of styles of kung fu as flurerar in the world, it is still Tai Chi Chuan, which has become the most famous. Although many in some circles are aware of other styles as Wing Tsun, Hung Gar, etc., it is still Tai Chi Chuan, which is giant. Tai Chi has been slowly but surely eaten into the West’s consciousness and become exposed in most media.
Tai Chi Chuan also has two pieces systersystem which is Xin Yi and Baguazhang. These three systems make up what is often called neija – internal training. The character on these systems is a little different as well as what is focusing on . They all share the common that health and strength come first.
On Saturday, July 12, it is intensivday in Xin Yi in Malmö Wing Tsun School, Celsiusgatan 29, at 12.00-15.00. All are welcome.
On Sunday, July 13, it is intensivday of Tai Chi Pushhands in Malmö Wing Tsun School, Celsiuusgatan 29, at 12.00-15.00. All are welcome.
